FAQs

How much are the sessions?

My fee for individual counselling sessions is £55 for 60 minutes. I also offer couples’ counselling: 60 minutes at £75 or 90 minutes at £95. Payment is due 24 hours prior to the session via the website or bank transfer. I request that clients provide 48 hours notice prior to cancelling a session. Any cancellation made less than 24 hours notice will result in a cancellation fee.

What can I come to counselling for?

You can come to counselling for many reasons. Here are a few examples:

  • A mental health condition such as anxiety, depression, addiction or an eating disorder, etc.

  • Support for living with an upsetting physical condition

  • Difficult life events such as relationship breakdowns, work stress or a bereavement

  • Processing traumatic life events

  • Coping with difficult emotions, such as anger or low self-esteem

  • Sexual identity issues

  • Couples’ or relationship issues

How many sessions will I need?

Each client’s needs are individual and some people may want counselling for a longer period of time than others. My way of working includes six weekly reviews in which we can discuss progress and review our therapeutic goals.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes, all sessions are strictly confidential. However, there are a few caveats: for example, if I feel you may cause serious harm to yourself or to others, or have broken the law, I may need to break confidentiality. My counselling contract, which will be given to you prior to our first session, will fully explain the circumstances which would require me to break confidentiality.
